Description: Shackle chain is made of ten forged iron links. The tenth link is open at one end. Shackles purportedly used by Samuel Maverick (1803-1870). Identified in 1978 by Maury Maverick, Jr. (great grandson) as chain worn by Samuel Maverick when he was in Perote Prison, Mexico from 1842-43.
