Description: Brown leather pouch, lined with brownish orange paper. Lid closes by tucking a flap into a strap. On front is writing stamped in gold leaf: "SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN PATENT AGENCY MUNN & CO. NEW YORK". Pouch contained patent papers issued to Elizabeth Sthreshley, a teacher at the State Institute for the Blind who invented a typewriter and a "slate" for the blind. Donated by George Townsend.
