In this program, Gonzalez talks about House debate on the forthcoming Civil Rights Bill [Civil Rights Act of 1964]. Features guest appearances from Rudy Esquivel, a San Antonio lawyer and member of the Texas Legislature, and Jake Jennings, of the Gates of Heaven Memorial Garden cemetery and Edward Munthis [sp?], president of Edgewood Independent School Board. Has opening with Gonzales climbing the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building while the sounds of the Bells of Congress are heard. Black and white picture with sound. There is a stamp on the film’s box for Christmas 1963. Squealing mechanical sounds can occasionally be heard on the audio track. Film leader has a countdown from VPI.
