Perhaps no sculpture better embodies the strength and spirit of UT than The Longhorn. Sculptor Duke Sundt was commissioned to create the steer by the Texas Wranglers, the Silver Spurs, and Phi Eta Sigma. Located near the Frank Erwin Center, the 2,800 pound bronze statue was dedicated in 1983. (large image)
