| The Jimmie Dodd Collection contains acetate and nitrate-based photographic film negatives, their original enclosures, and a small number of photographic prints produced by Jimmie Dodd or the Jimmie Dodd Studio between 1937 and 1966 that document the economic, social, political, cultural, and civic activity of Kingsville, Texas, the King Ranch, and Southeast Texas. The collection inventory is based on the original order of Mr. Dodd's filing system, a loose alphabetical arrangement. The series title refers to the name of the client who paid for the Dodd Studio's photographic services, not necessarily the subject of the images. Each series may contain one to twenty-five images; please contact the Photograph Archives for more information. Addresses, subjects, and dates documented on the original negative envelopes are listed when available. |
| The Center for American History is currently participating in the TARO Grant Project, an initiative to establish an online repository of archival resources using Encoded Archival Description (EAD), a mark-up language based on SGML and XML standards. EAD finding aids will allow sophisticated navigation, searching and retreval of information about archival collections.
