Henry B. Gonzalez   AUSTIN, TX – April 30, 2007 – Henry B. Gonzalez Day at the Capitol: In partnership with the Honorable Leticia Van de Putte, Texas Senator, District 26, the Center for American History will honor the legacy of Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez on May 3, 2007, at the Texas Capitol. A number of Congressman Gonzalez' family, members of the 80th Legislative session, and representatives from The University of Texas at Austin will gather to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Congressman Gonzalez' election as the first Mexican American in the Texas Senate. May 3 also marks the 91st anniversary of his birth. (spanish version)
     
Portrait of Henry B. Gonzalez   "Voice of the People," a celebration of the legacy of the late Texas Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez, will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Wednesday, October 25.  The program will be hosted by the University of Texas at Austin Center for American History (CAH), Mrs. Bertha Gonzalez, and the family of Henry B.
