"Last month, I attended the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in the United Kingdom, where the Briscoe Center's documentary film When I Rise won two awards. I'm proud to lead a team of historians and curators who use their creativity to bring history alive to public audiences."
On November 11, The Briscoe Center will reopen the renovated Sam Rayburn Museum in Bonham, Texas. This is the first major renovation since the museum opened more than fifty years ago. Congressman Ralph Hall will attend and participate in the opening ceremony.
Our website has a new feature, Materials in Action, illustrating how Briscoe Center holdings are utilized by academics and journalists in their publications. Recent examples include books on news anchor Walter Cronkite, Sociology Professor C. Wright Mills and former Texas Governor Ann Richards.
Over the last month, The Briscoe Center has increased its use of social media in order to help fulfill its mission to increase knowledge and foster exploration of our nature's past. You can now connect with the Briscoe Center on Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels.
