Continuing the efforts started by President Nixon to improve relations with the Soviet Union, President Ford meets with Soviet General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev near Vladivostok to negotiate strategic arms limitations.
Did you know?
The Siberian port city of Vladivostok was closed to foreigners until the early 1990s. The one exception to the policy was President Ford's1974 visit to meet with Brezhnev.
