Finding Aids
Finding aids to individual collections are available to researchers in several formats, each with varying degrees of detail:
- A growing number of the Center's finding aids is available at Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO), a website consortium of manuscript repositories in the state.
- Some finding aids can be attached to e-mail as text documents. Please contact the Center at cah.reference@austin.utexas.edu for more information.
- Another portion of the individual finding aids is available only in paper copy. Please contact the Center to arrange prepayment for paper copies of finding aids.
- Because of the size and diversity of the Center's collections, it can be challenging to bring a research topic into focus. To make this process easier, the Center has created a series of subject guides. These guides provide a bibliographic framework to aid the researcher in quickly locating relevant source material. They are intended as a point of entry into the collections, though further research will undoubtedly yield other valuable resources.
