Photographic – Price List
Photo duplication decisions are made on a case by case basis by the Center’s staff. Some materials cannot be photographed or scanned due to condition or other restrictions. Patrons must completely fill out a Photograph/Moving Image Order Form and a Permission to Publish or Use Reproductions of Materials Form to conform to current United States copyright laws. Please consult with the CAH Reference Staff for any assistance needed. Payment in advance is required for all photo orders. Do not send payment until the Photo Services Coordinator has contacted you. You will be contacted by email unless otherwise requested. Texas Sales of 8.25% is applicable to all Texas transactions. Patrons with Tax Exempt Status must complete the Texas Sales and Use Tax Exemption form 01-339.
Photographic Preservation Fee
All requests for reproductions are subject to a photographic preservation fee. This fee is used to defray costs associated with the special handling required of the types of materials that must be photographically reproduced. Funds generated from these fees are dedicated to the further development and preservation of the Center’s holdings.

Delivery
Delivery times vary but average between two and three weeks after payment. Larger orders may take longer. Rush delivery of five business days from the date of payment is available for TIFF scans only and at the discretion of Center staff. There is a $20 surcharge per image for rush delivery fees.
A handling fee of $6.00 per order is charged for orders that must be mailed out. No handling fee is
charged for orders picked up at the Center. Patrons whose orders are to be mailed outside the United States must also provide an express mail account or credit card number for express mail service.
Fees for Reproductions
Digital Images: We are able to provide TIFF images on CD. The charge for TIFFs is $20 per image plus the applicable preservation fee and $3 for the CD. Several digital images can be burned to one CD. We do not email TIFFs. Researchers may have digital files they purchase from the CAH printed by a commercial photography lab. They must present a copy of the “Permission to Publish” form signed by Center staff to the lab in order for them to make a print.
Prints: Prints are made from digital files and are printed at full frame on glossy paper unless otherwise requested. Traditional hand printed prints are available upon request. Traditional hand prints may require purchase of a copy negative if one does not already exist. For current pricing on prints please contact the Photo Services Coordinator.
Color Transparencies and Slides:
If no 4”x5” color transparency exists for a particular image, patrons must order and pay for two. The second transparency will then be used for creating future transparencies. A setup charge may apply. Slides are available exclusively to UT system faculty, staff, and students for classroom use only, and must also be purchased in duplicate if no original exists. Requests for slides should be made directly to the photography department staff. For current pricing on color transparencies and slides please contact the Photo Services Coordinator.
