Guidelines for Your Visit

  • Please look and enjoy, but do not touch the displays.
  • Items larger than 11” x 15”, including backpacks, diaper bags, purses, umbrellas, and other bulky or rigid items, are not allowed in the galleries and must be put into a locker. Lockers are available near the reception desk.
  • No food, beverage, bottled water, or gum is allowed in the galleries. Water fountains are available near the bathrooms.
  • Please silence cell phones and electronic devices in the galleries.
  • Please use pencils (no pens) for sketching and taking notes in the galleries.
  • To ensure the safety of our collections and visitors, we do not permit the use of flash photography, tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks at any time. Photography for personal use only is allowed unless posted otherwise.   • No children under age 11 without adult supervision.
  • The University of Texas at Austin's tobacco-free campus policy applies to all university buildings and on university grounds. Smoking is not allowed inside the Briscoe Center and on surrounding walkways, sidewalks, and parking areas.
  • There is no cost for admission.
  • Directions and parking information is available here. The Briscoe Center does not have parking facilities. There are public parking lots and limited street parking within walking distance.
