Description: Participants of the March for Voting Rights from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama were confronted by Alabama state troopers just after crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge outside Selma. March participants were ordered to "disperse or go back to the church". Minutes later marchers were attacked by state troopers with clubs and tear gas.
