Constitutional Alcalde of the Jurisdiction of Austin
Identifier: foth_0224
Title: Constitutional Alcalde of the Jurisdiction of Austin
Description: Held in San Felipe de Austin, the Convention of 1832 adopted a series of resolutions to be presented to the Mexican Congress. One of the resolutions called for organizing a militia and committees of vigilance, safety, and correspondence. Though Texas never presented the resolutions to the Congress, some of the resolutions held firm. This certificate confirms Edward Burleson as a Lieutenant Colonel in a provisional militia.
