Briscoe Center Sponsors "Reggae Bloodlines" Talk by Photojournalist Peter Simon

Award-winning photographer Peter Simon presents the talk "Reggae Bloodlines: Peter Simon's Photographic Chronicle" on March 10, 2009, from 6:30 pm. to 8:00 p.m. The talk is free and open to the public, and takes place in the Jesse H. Jones Communication Center Auditorium (Maps: CMA A2.320 and Jesse H. Jones Communication Center building A).

Simon, who collaborated with reggae expert Roger Steffens on The Reggae Scrapbook (2007), has covered the musical genre for a number of decades. Simon will discuss his experiences photographing reggae culture and musicians, including important festivals and figures such as Joe Higgs, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Bob Marley.

The talk is sponsored by the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History and is presented in conjunction with the School of Journalism.
